“What We Hide,” formerly known as Spider & Jessie, has been acquired by Gravitas Ventures as reported by Variety. The film follows Spider, Mckenna Grace, and Jessie, Jojo Regina, as they deal with the ramifications of their mothers’ fatal overdose. The sisters decide to hide their mother’s body to avoid being separated by the foster care system. The girls must determine how far they will go to keep their secret.
“What We Hide” was entirely filmed in Tampa Bay, Florida, by Tampa-based company Hungry Bull Productions. “We’re proud to support filming in Florida,” says Hungry Bull Producer Joe Restaino. A month after its premiere at the Santa Barabara Film Festival, “What We Hide” returned to Tampa Bay for the Gasparilla International Film Festival. The highly anticipated film was packed with festival-goers.
“We’re so excited that the movie has found a home,” says Tyler Martinolich, the Film Tampa Bay film commissioner. “’What We Hide’ is a fantastic film, and we’re thrilled it will be available for others to see.”
“At Hungry Bull Productions, our focus has always been to work with the best talent and bring forward meaningful stories. ‘What We Hide’ represents precisely that,” says producer Joe Restaino.
“Mckenna Grace delivers an award-worthy performance, and her co-star Jojo Regina will be one to watch for years. We are thrilled to be working with such great partners on this project in Gravitas who share our vision in telling a difficult story surrounding the opioid crisis in America.” Restaino continued.
“What We Hide” is screening at the Dallas International Film Festival this weekend and will be available through VOD in August.
